An adventurous “Trash the Dress” photo shoot on Yoho waterfall in the Rockies.

Julie and Thibault had an intimate ceremony in Alberta along the river with a view of the Rockies. We joined them in the Yoho National Park in British Columbia, to have an adventurous shoot after a short but beautiful hike. We had all the elements against us at the time, with clouds of smoke due to the wildfires, the intense mist created by the falls, as well as a pretty big rain shower. But that created a unique light and atmosphere and our couple was brave enough to leave their jackets! We were so happy to show off the famous turquoise blue of the Canadian lake during this Trash the Dress shoot. The waterfall was very powerful and impressive. We had to communicate with gestures as we couldn’t hear anything. It was a true adventure and a memory we will never forget thanks to this newly married couple.

"Trash the Dress sessions" or “post-wedding shoots” are our favorite kind of shoot for couples. It’s what we recommend for couples who want artistic and unique photos in a magical location. Sometimes, the location is challenging to reach and that’s why this photoshoot is also an experience. Our couples come to us for many reasons. Some of them don’t have a photographer they choose themselves or no photographer at all for the ceremony, as they seek to have something more than just the reportage of the ceremony. Even if we try our best to capture a ceremony, the truth is that we don't have control of this moment - you, your guests, or the surroundings. During the post-wedding session, we can provoke smiles, facing expressions, and capture a true picture of everything against unique landscapes.

Yoho, with amazing waterfalls, crystal blue and turquoise rivers, and stretches of water, surrounded by graceful forests and mountains, offers a perfect playground for nature lovers and artists like us.

"TRASH THE DRESS", "FEARLESS BRIDAL", OR "ROCK THE FROCK"

There are a few ways to call the Trash the Dress concept. But what all photographers agree on is the fact that the shoot is a mix between glamour and fashion photography, primarily focusing on the beauty and elegance of the bride in graphic or symbolic places. It's the end of the bride's life, and the beginning of the wife's life...even though some women want to stay a bride forever!

We have a more artistic view of this concept, which is more about offering photos that can't be taken during a ceremony and to create something magical in unique places.
